Reconstruction Diorama of the Austin Friars, Cambridge; Cambridge Archaeological Unit
1 November 2020
Heritage Interpretation has become a growing part of Mark’s offer. Here we see the long-vanished Austin Friars of Cambridge in 1530. The area in the foreground was recently excavated. It is shown as cut-away to allow the excavated evidence and the life of this compact institution to be seen. The other areas have been supplied by the study of historic engravings and views, as well through analogy with a surviving friary church in Norwich. Mark has a productive relationship with Cambridge University and the Welcome Trust. This work was refined through continuous consultation with the client (CAU) so that their wants were met exactly.
